Our Mission
A 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, the Big Island Sports Hall of Fame’s mission is to recognize the achievement and contributions of local athletes, coaches, officials and supporters that have distinguished themselves in development of the sport that have brought credit upon themselves and Hawaii Island in the local, national and international level in the amateur and professional level.
The Wall
Initial expenses for the construction and installation of the wall of fame at the Prince Kuhio Plaza was supported by a grant from the Hawaiʻi County Council and the ongoing expenses for rent and modification and additions to the wall is paid for by our generous sponsors.
Board of Directors
The Board of Directors are made up of former athletes and supporters in their own right whose goal is to honor and show tribute to those who have also made Hawaiʻi proud of their accomplishments and represented Hawaiʻi on and off the islands.
